Dear Mr. Meyer:

The installer for X-Plane updates does not work on my Windows 98 SE system. I copied the installer to various places (Desktop, root directory, and 8.15 directory), but I always get two Windows error notification boxes when running it. Here are the error messages:

A device attached to the system is not functioning.

The INSTALLER-8 WINDOWS.EXE file is linked to missing export SHELL32.DLL:SHGetFolderPathA.

I am attaching a report detailing the WINDOWS\SYSTEM\SHELL32.DLL file on my system. The report lists, among other things, the export table. SHGetFolderPathA is not in the table, but there are other entries that you might be able to use instead.

Sincerely,
